An early afternoon fire shuts down a block of West Elm Street.
The Lima Fire Department was called to a house fire at 1011 West Elm. Heavy smoke was seen coming from the back of the house when they arrived on the scene. Fire officials on the scene say they don’t know the cause of the fire but they do believe it started in the kitchen and worked its way up the wall to the second story of the home. The damage is extensive according to officials, but no dollar amount has been placed on it yet.
