Four Allen County organizations who help children and veterans in need got some extra money to help continue their mission.
DeMolay, Toys for Tots, Warriors Way Forge, and Northwest Ohio Food Pantry were all awarded checks today from the "Widows Sons" Lima chapter.
The Northwest Ohio food pantry received $3,000, toys for tots received $350, Warriors Way Forge and DeMolay received $325 each.
The Widows Sons is a non-profit, Masonic organization whose members enjoy riding motorcycles, and today they wanted to help the organizations who give back to the community.
"It's very important during the holiday season that we think about those less fortunate than ourselves," said Bob Green, president of Widows Sons Lima chapter. "We strive as our organization and we like to support anything with our veterans."
A member of Warriors Way Forge said the donation was greatly appreciated, as it will help fund needed items.
"The donation to the organization is very important to the organization for purchases of anvil equipment for that would be much needed for the organization to continue," said David Bates, member of Warriors Way Forge.
The donations are a yearly event to help community organizations.
