April 12, 2024, Press Release from the United States Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Ohio: TOLEDO – Whitney Durant, AKA Soren Monroe, age 20, of Worthington, Ohio, was sentenced to two years of probation and a $2,000 dollar fine by Magistrate Judge Darrell A. Clay, after pleading guilty to one count of intentionally damaging a reproductive health care center, a violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (the “FACE Act”). Durant vandalized HerChoice, a reproductive health services clinic located in Bowling Green, Ohio, because the clinic offers pregnancy counseling, free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, but not abortion services.

The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to assist with their "Solar Smash Bash" on the Saturday before the eclipse. They have spots for people to help with the kids' zone and greeters at entrances, among other activities.

The Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the "Solar Smash Bash" at the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater the Saturday before the eclipse. With the anticipated influx of people in the region for the celestial event and for those who reside here, they wanted to provide some entertainment. There will be live music, food trucks, astronomy displays, and a special kids zone. Organizers say it will be a cosmic blast.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) saw a similar volume of requests for investigations of officer-involved critical incidents (OICI) in 2023 compared to last year, according to data released today by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. Local law enforcement agencies requested BCI to investigate 58 OICIs in 2023, one fewer than in 2022. Under AG Yost’s leadership, BCI has investigated over 260 officer-involved critical incidents since 2019.
