LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Are you looking for something to do to commemorate the upcoming solar eclipse? If so, the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce may have something for you.
The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to assist with their "Solar Smash Bash" on the Saturday before the eclipse. They have spots for people to help with the kids' zone and greeters at entrances, among other activities.
"We've got a lot of different categories, and if they go to limachamber.com and click on the Solar Smash event, that event web page has a link that says, "Are You Ready to Volunteer? Click Here." So it's an online process, it's easy, it's a fun event to volunteer for. They can bring family and friends; groups can volunteer together and just really have a great time and enjoy the event all at the same time," said Julie Klinger, director of programs at the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce.
They are still taking registrations for vendors for the Solar Smash Bash. You can sign up on the chamber's website under the Solar Smash event tab. The deadline for vendors is this Friday, March 29, 2024.
