Those attending the event at Heritage Elementary got to hear about one woman's service to her country and how she now educates people on what the military can offer a person. Students also sang patriotic songs and read essays in appreciation for the veterans.

Ryan learned more about the collaboration between Good Year and the Air Force research lab in Roder to create a domestic source of natural rubber from a specific species of dandelion. The congressman secured an appropriations bill of five million dollars in order to cultivate the plants in the state of Ohio. Ryan says that seeing this in the United States is important to overall growth in the Air Force.

An Ada, Ohio, native is serving in the U.S. Navy as part of the nation’s nuclear deterrence mission at Strategic Communications Wing One (STRATCOMMWING ONE). Its TACAMO ("Take Charge and Move Out") mission provides airborne communication links to nuclear missile units of U.S. Strategic Command.
