A Care-A-Van from 92.1 The Frog delivered listener-donated toys and supplies to support nearly 200 children in the Allen County Children Services Adopt-a-Family holiday program.

“I love what I do. I've had children come in who needed placed, who were in loopholes between homes,” Bevis said. “So what I do is just bring them in, help them from where they're at, get them strong, send them on their way with their families, or they stay with me.”
Bevis said she was honored to be recognized and that the timing was meaningful, as she had been questioning whether she was making a difference. Allen County Children Services assured her that she is indeed making an impact on the lives of the children in her care.
Allen County Children Services is in to tell us more about kinship care and adoption for Kinship Awareness Month!
On Friday, the company delivered boxes from its three-week school supply drive to Allen County Children Services.
“A lot of them have needs, just like our clients do,” said Greg Sowinski, communications coordinator for Allen County Children Services. “So just because they're not a client of the agency does not mean that they don't face some of the similar issues that our clients face, especially with financial means being limited.”
McDonald’s locations — including 12 in the Lima area — along with partners, the Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships and Hometown Stations, have boxes ready to be filled with school supplies. They're looking for anything from pencils and paper, to glue, crayons, and backpacks.
