“It’s basically everything that’s going on in Lima in the ’30s, but also what’s going on around the nation,” said Hannah Bergstedt, Public Engagement and Learning Coordinator at the Lima Public Library. “I think we all know the Great Depression — that’s what the 1930s are known for. Slow down, sit down, enjoy what you have planted,” said Sandra Kennedy, an Allen County Master Gardener. “This is the same to save all of us, older, aging people. You don't stop gardening when you get old, you get old when you stop gardening, and that's the truth. Think about that—be rejoice in your oldness.”
The Allen County Museum welcomes our community to our June 2025 Museum Talk in collaboration with the Ottawa River Coalition.
The Allen County Museum will be open for more hours this summer and there are several events coming up!
The program, which is open to children ages 6 to 12, gives kids the chance to spend their summer meeting new friends and learning more about themselves. Throughout the eight-week program, participants will go on field trips, hear from guest speakers, take part in a variety of activities, and, of course, play games.
