The West Central Association of REALTORS® donated $5,000 and food to Meals Til’ Monday to help provide weekend meals for hundreds of Allen County students.
“It’s really kind of just helping us learn for the future, since we’re graduating next year, most of us — how to budget our money since we’re going to be out in the real world by ourselves, and also incorporating your kids into that and stuff, if you plan on having any,” said senior Alisandra VanMeter. “We’re also kind of learning the difference of insurances, high deductible versus low deductible, stuff like that.”
The Science Enhancement for Science Advancement program (SESA) brought hands-on science lessons to Delphos Jefferson Middle School, reaching its 400,000th student.
“When things get very expensive, if instead of buying one for each school, we can get the equipment, the people—whoever it is—in one location and be able to share it amongst the schools, it makes it much more cost effective, and not only for the schools, but for the taxpayers of Allen County as well,” Kupferberg said.
Prevention Awareness Support Services, or PASS, shared that message Tuesday at Lima Central Catholic by encouraging students to save 988 in their phone contacts.
Future leaders were recognized by the Lima Exchange Club during its annual luncheon, where 12 students from various Allen County schools were honored as "Youth of the Year."
The question of what the upcoming school year will look like has been something that Allen County schools have been trying to answer for students, parents, and staff alike.
Area third graders got a special gift from the Lima Rotary Club on Wednesday.
