A teenager was shot in the leg Thursday night, and the Allen County Sheriff's Office is looking for tips to find out who the shooter was.
Local law enforcement are searching for a man was involved in a police chase and took hostages that he force to aid him in his escape. According to the Allen County Sheriff’s office 32-year-old Leroy “Knowledge” Page was in a car chase with Lima Police officers around 12:30 am Sunday morning. Page wrecked the vehicle near W. Elm St. and Fraunfelter Rd. He then went to a residence where he forced his way inside. He assaulted the homeowners for two hours, then forced them to drive him to the area Yoakam Road and West Breese Road, where he got out of the car and left on foot. Law enforcement believe he went to his home on Redbud Lane and then he left the area. Page is 5’9” tall and weighs approximately 275 pounds. He is believed to be a threat to others and may be armed. There was free food and activities for the kids, plus around 150 people laced up their shoes for the 5K race to benefit the Allen County DARE Program. Besides making connections with the residents, Sheriff Matt Treglia says the night is for people to come out and see all the different programs, like the SWAT team, K9 units, and Dive Team their tax dollars pay for.
Lima Police Department reported the officer-involved shooting started around 2:37 am near the intersection of 2nd and Sugar streets on the south side of Lima. The traffic stop led to a vehicle chase. The suspect then got out of their vehicle and ran off so a foot chase began.
Some of the obstacles include a straw mountain that you must climb over, work your way through a tunnel, and get cooled off crossing the ice bath. You can run the course by yourself or get a team of two or even four to join you to get the best time. The proceeds from the race will be used to help different programs at the sheriff's office.
35-year-old Donald Leroy Collins III charged with Domestic Violence, Rape, Abduction, and Resisting Arrest. Wednesday night around 11 p.m., deputies responded to the 6605 block of Agerter Road for an assault complaint. The female victim says Collins assaulted her at her home. Collins tried to run away but was captured by deputies and booked in the Allen County Jail. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
34-year-old Trayvon Thomas and 40-year-old Jakqueta Hollman were arrested on narcotics charges related to the investigation. On April 30th, the task force, and members of the Allen and Auglaize counties' SWAT teams served warrants at 619 N. Collett St and 2219 N. Metcalf St. They found suspected fentanyl pills, marijuana, weapons, drug paraphernalia, and cash. The investigation is ongoing and the case will be presented to the Allen County Grand Jury for possible additional charges.
