Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dr. Amy Acton spoke Monday night at the Allen County Democratic Party’s “Dinner for Democracy.” Acton told the audience that her personal and professional experiences inspired her decision to run for Ohio governor against Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Also speaking at the event were Democratic candidates for Ohio Secretary of State, Dr. Bryan Hambley and Dr. Allison Russo. Both candidates discussed their motivations for entering the race.

A federal lawsuit has been filed against the now former state health director Dr. Amy Acton, saying that canceling music festivals is impeding on peoples First Amendment rights. 

Organizers for the Country Fest and the Bellwether Music Festival in Ohio, both set for August 6-8, filed the lawsuit against Acton and the local health departments where the concerts would take place.

Gov. Mike DeWine announces an alliance to help get personal protective equipment, or PPEs, to healthcare workers. The Ohio Manufacturing Alliance to Fight COVID-19 is collaborative effort that involves several state manufacturing organizations, nursing homes, and JobsOhio to figure out which companies have interest in adjusting their operations to produce needed equipment.

No new orders have come from Gov. Mike DeWine on Thursday but we are seeing new data on the track Ohio is on. Dr. Amy Acton released the latest numbers of Coronavirus in Ohio. As of Thursday morning, there are 867 cases and 15 deaths. Acton and DeWine expressed how much social distancing has bought the health care system some time.

Governor DeWine and health officials once again updated the state on the current spread of the Coronavirus on Tuesday afternoon. As of Tuesday morning, there are 67 confirmed cases in the state with 17 hospitalizations. The main point from the director of health is that a surge in cases is almost certain to come at some point. She says it's not to scare people, but to ensure that while practicing all the mandates in place, people can help keep the spread of the virus to a minimum. The state is looking into how to care for the sick while accommodating other needs, like using hotels or arenas.
