Some Lima students on Friday got the chance to enjoy some seasonal fall activities while also making new friends! The Sparty Friends gathered this morning inside West Middle School to decorate pumpkins while enjoying popcorn and apple cider. The "Bigs from West Middle School were paired with a Little from Freedom, Heritage, Independence, or Unity Elementary schools to complete these activities together while strengthening peer relationships skills.

The leaves are starting to fall, and the City of Lima Utilities Department wants you to be ready. Lima residents who have Lima Utilities are eligible to receive leaf bags from the city. Each residence is able to get two rolls of bags in October and another two rolls in November. This gives homeowners a chance to get a start on their raking and leaf pickup. Residents are also able to take advantage of a yard waste disposal container.
Perry students from kindergarten through sixth grade had a blast at their second annual Fall Fest. The youngsters wore their fall clothes and flannels while enjoying fall-themed activities like spooky pylon ring toss and to see who could get their pumpkin across the finish line first while only using a broom. Organizers say this festival encourages students to come to school, a fun way to reduce absenteeism.
