October 9, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources: COLUMBUS, Ohio – The fall colors seem to be taking its time this year, however glimpses and patches of vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows are becoming more and more common, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

“We are still seeing a lot of green out there but also seeing more colorful splashes of fall color throughout the state,” said ODNR Fall Color Forester David Parrott. “Cooler temperatures will really help the color transformation continue. We should be seeing the best fall color in the next few weeks.”

Ohio is starting to see more glimpses of vibrant reds, oranges, and yellow.

Our fall color reporters are still seeing mostly changing conditions with a few areas at near peak. Current changers include dogwoods, sycamores and pin oaks.
