Lima City Schools held its annual back to school celebration and school supply giveaway on Tuesday afternoon.

"Beanie is going to go throughout our neighborhoods, and he's going to help us avoid some of the common property maintenance violations that we see so that we can make sure that our neighborhoods are clean, safe and well maintained,” said Jessica Begonia, Public Information Officer for the City of Lima.
Did you see Beanie today? The Lima mascot made its rounds around the city this evening for a wave tour. Beanie and his crew stopped at six locations around Lima today to give families the chance to snap a photo of him. This was to encourage families to get outside, put a smile on their faces, and possibly win a prize. The Wave Tour followed all social distancing guidelines, and families were asked to stay inside their vehicles and wave.
The City of Lima's mascot is hitting the road to get out and visit area residents. This Friday, May 15th, "Beanie" will be at several locations around the city on his "Wave Tour". He thought it was time to get outside for some fresh air and see his neighbors. The "Wave Tour" is a no-contact event and people are encouraged to take pictures of "Beanie" from a safe social distance to enter a photo contest.
