A 20-year-old man was killed in a single car crash Sunday night. According to the Lima Police Detectives, Jesse Woodrow was found in a vehicle in wooded area off Commerce Parkway just after 5 p.m. Crash investigators believe that Woodrow was heading east on Commerce Parkway when he went left of center and off the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree and killed Woodrow. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which is still under investigation. Lawyers for 32-year-old Paul Curtis Jr. say that he was too intoxicated to understand his rights before Lima Police Detectives interviewed him for the shooting death of Sam McLaurin in November of last year. They are asking that the interview be suppressed for Curtis's future trial. McLaurin's body was found in the driveway at a home in the 400 block of S. Baxter St. with multiple gunshot wounds. When officers went to arrest Curtis, they say that he was under the influence.

53-year-old Frank Alexander was sentenced after an Allen County jury found him guilty of 17 counts, including 10 counts of rape. There were three victims and the offenses occurred over a ten-year period starting in 2008. Two of the victims were under the age of 10 when the offenses started. Alexander didn't make any statement on the advice of his attorney because he is planning on appealing the conviction. But prosecutors say he did admit to lima police detectives what he did to the victims.
