October 16, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources: COLUMBUS, Ohio – Christopher J. Alexander, 28, of Wilmington, on Tuesday pleaded guilty to 14 counts in the illegal taking of an 18-point trophy white-tailed buck deer in Clinton County on Nov. 9, 2023. Alexander pleaded guilty to taking a second antlered buck during the 2023 hunting season, which is another violation of Ohio law according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

Ohio deer hunters had a successful week for gun hunting.  Hunters harvested nearly 72,000 deer, during the week that hunters could use a gun to for deer hunting.  Which is nearly 1,500 more than the weeklong hunting time in 2021 and 2,500 above the three year average.   So far this year, 164,000 deer have been checked by gun and bow hunters.   Gun hunters have a bonus weekend coming up December 17th and 18th where they can try and get their buck or doe.
