Apollo Career Center welcomed nearly a thousand high school sophomores Wednesday afternoon to tour its career programs.
The program teaches students both front- and back-of-house skills, including cooking, baking, and customer service, preparing them to enter the workforce straight out of high school. Many students pursue the course out of a love for cooking and with hopes of a future career in the restaurant industry.
For Friday's Senior Showcase, Tri Star students invited their family members into the classroom to demonstrate the skills they have learned.
The process has begun for hundreds of Lima City School 8th graders to determine what they want to study when they reach high school. The students got the chance to see all 12 of the career tech programs that are offered at Lima Senior, including early childhood education, graphic communications, and auto technology.
