“We're very supportive of the Allen County Children's Services Board and the assistance that they provide not only to the children, but to the families that are in need,” Kohlrieser said. “We're hoping to help combat any issues of neglect or dependency, to help these families that are in crisis, to show a little support and hopefully benefit them in some way.”

Caregivers are more concerned about others than themselves.  So, doctors recommend that if you know a caregiver, give them the gift of a few hours for themselves this holiday season.

April 17, 2024, Press Release from the Alzheimer's Association: TOLEDO, OH—April 17, 2024—National Institutes of Health (NIH) as it observes April as National Stress Awareness Month. Sources of stress can be as diverse as the people who undergo it, but one group that experiences stress day after day, occasionally for as long as 20 years, are the caregivers for people living with Alzheimer’s disease.

It can be emotionally draining and physically taxing and more than 65-million Americans do it. The National Alliance for Caregiving says 29% of the U.S. population provide care for a chronically ill, disabled, or aged family member.
