LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Registration is now underway for the 2026 Lima Relay For Life, marking the 32nd year of the community event dedicated to supporting cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and their families.

Relay For Life raises money for cancer research, education and support services while bringing the community together to honor those battling cancer and remember those who have lost their fight against the disease.

This year's theme is "Super Heroes," and the event will feature a survivors lap led by local veterans. Organizers say the relay provides an opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, recognize caregivers and continue the fight against cancer.

"It's grown and it stays. We have hundreds of survivors that come out now, which is wonderful. And that's what we want to see. We want to celebrate the survivors. We want to celebrate the caregivers. We want to remember those who aren't here anymore because the fight still continues," said Cheryl Nagy, Lima Relay For Life coordinator.

According to organizers, the Lima Relay For Life has raised more than $2 million throughout its history to support the mission of fighting cancer through research, patient services and education. Community members interested in participating, forming a team or making a donation can register online at RelayForLife.org/Lima.

Organizers say the continued growth of the event reflects the strong support the Lima region has shown for cancer patients, survivors and their families over the past three decades.
