DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) - The city of Delphos celebrated the 4th with a 2-day festival put on by the Kiwanis Club.
DELPHOS, OH (WLIO)- If you were at Stadium Park in Delphos Monday evening, chances are, you likely watched cute ducklings fiercely race agains…
The Delphos Kiwanis Club is preparing for a busy weekend at their annual Independence Day Celebration. The organization was one of the few to pull off a festival last summer, however it was only one day with limited events. This year they are back for the full two days. There will be live entertainment, the popular chicken barbeque, free rides on Sunday, and more. New to the festival this year is a gun raffle. The Delphos Kiwanis Treasurer, Cindy Metzger, says they are happy to bring even more to the weekend than in years past.
On Wednesday dozens of families watched a race between some of their favorite yellow feathery friends. Ten little ducklings competed in a race at stadium park in Delphos. Before each race, people bet on the duck they thought would waddle to the win. At the end, the ducks were raffled off. The event is hosted every year by the Delphos Kiwanis Club. The money raised from it helps the community.
Delphos will soon have a new summer fun activity for families to enjoy.
