Four local organizations won $10,000 to support efforts aimed at improving the community.

Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith fielded questions from some of the city’s youngest residents Tuesday during a visit to Freedom Elementary School.

Locals in Bluffton showed their support of the Supreme Law of the Land, the US Constitution.

The ALL program is designed to help participants better understand the region they live and work in. The class meets once a month for 10 months, with each session focused on a different topic. Participants visit a variety of businesses, industries and educational institutions to see how each plays a vital role in the overall success of the region.

Keith Cunningham, another former member, called the reunion “a great idea” and said it inspired him to consider returning. “It was a lot of fun, good to see people that I haven't seen for many years. And yeah, of course, it gives you pause to think maybe I maybe I should try this again. So I'll be thinking about it over the holidays and the first of the year,” Cunningham said.

ServeOhio, Ohio's commission on service and volunteerism, - in partnership with InnerView Technologies - is honored to recognize outstanding Ohio high school students who make great contributions to their local communities and the state through service and volunteerism.

The finalists for the Lima Allen County Chamber's Young Leader of the Year Award share many characteristics, but most importantly they are making an impact in the communities where they live.

After meeting with the Dayton Human Relations Commission, the City of Lima is now reviewing its HRC, originally established in 1974, with plans to revive it in 2025.
