BLUFFTON, Ohio (WLIO) - Locals in Bluffton showed their support of the Supreme Law of the Land, the US Constitution.
The “We the People” event allowed resident of Bluffton to sign the founding document. Each person that attended received a free Constitution to take home. The document contains 27 Amendments and people were given the chance to write which part is their favorite, and why. Not only was this Bipartisan event held to back the Constitution, but many people, young and old, took turns reading the entire Constitution aloud.
"We wanted to make it partly an educational experience, and partly an event to share what you're thinking about the Constitution," says Libby Hostetler, Community member of Bluffton.
"We're hoping that we have a young man who is going to read the Preamble and the Bill of Rights, and we hope that people can come and talk about the Constitution," says Mary Ramseyer, Community Member of Bluffton.
The room was also decorated with art made by elementary students of the Liberty Bell, showing that history can be taught to anyone of any age.
