The Lima Fire Department is still investigating a fire that severely damaged a home early Friday morning. Fire crews were called to 545 Michael Avenue around midnight. When they arrived, fire was on both the first and second stories of the home, the fire also caused a partial collapse of the roof. No one was home at the time of the fire, neighbors says the residents were home before the fire started. Fire officials are still trying to determine the cause, but they believe the fire started in the rear of the home near the back porch.

Part of a Lima building collapsed overnight. The incident happened at a building at Northland Plaza. The former Rent-A-Center building next to Chief Supermarket partially collapsed. Bricks from the roof of the building tumbled over and caused damage to the awning and to the sidewalk as well. There were no injuries from the incident and construction crews are currently working on renovations. The building is owned by Coastal Equities out of Weston, Florida.
Repairs are still being made to a collapsed sewer line on Grand Avenue.
