The City of Lima's Mayor’s Spring Cleanup program resumes this weekend after a Memorial Day break, offering residents access to dumpsters at six locations across the city. Through its first two weekends, the program has served 521 residents, filled 42 dumpsters and collected hundreds of tires and loads of debris.
The City of Lima will hold its second Mayor’s Spring Clean-Up event this weekend with five dumpster locations available for residents. Organizers say last week’s event brought in hundreds of participants and resulted in dozens of dumpsters being filled.
Staff from the Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution celebrated Earth Day by cleaning up litter across parts of the Lima community.
Lima Central Catholic students celebrated Earth Day by volunteering to clean up Faurot Park, collecting trash and debris throughout the area. Organized by the city’s parks department, the effort highlighted students’ commitment to community service and environmental responsibility.
Lima held a local Earth Day celebration as well as giving the community a call to action.
In celebration of Earth Day, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost today began the rollout of nearly $1 million in grants to more than two dozen local governments statewide to clean up existing illegal dump sites containing solid wastes and/or demolition debris and to prevent future dumping.
With spring upon us, the City of Lima is encouraging residents to think big when it comes to their spring cleaning.
