WOCAP is reminding eligible residents that its Summer Crisis Program can help with cooling and energy costs as extreme heat continues across west-central Ohio. The agency also offers home energy assessments, conservation education, and up to $250 in energy-saving products to help reduce utility bills.

The West Ohio Community Action Partnership is launching its Summer Crisis Program on July 1 to help eligible residents stay cool during the summer months. The program offers assistance with utility bills, air conditioner repairs and purchases, and other cooling-related expenses through September.

The assistance includes up to $500 toward electric bills or up to $1,500 for repairs to a central air conditioning unit. There is also a separate benefit available for those needing an air conditioning unit in addition to monetary assistance.
