31-year-old Cornelius Ware Jr. was found guilty of attempted rape and attempted sexual battery and gross sexual imposition charges during a trial last month. He was originally indicted on rape and sexual battery charges, along with gross sexual imposition. In August of 2021, Lima detectives say that he had sex with the girl who had passed out after drinking at a party where Ware was at.

A Columbus man is facing a jury for having sexual contact with a teenage girl after a night of drinking. 31-year-old Cornelius Ware Jr.'s trial started Tuesday afternoon after a jury was finally seated. Ware was indicted on rape, gross sexual imposition, and sexual battery charges. Lima detectives say that he allegedly had sexual contact with the teenage girl in September of 2020 who was passed out after drinking. Ware lived in Lima at the time of the incident and denies that anything happened. The trial will resume on Wednesday.

Johnny Thomason was indicted on three counts of rape, all felonies of the first degree, four counts of gross sexual imposition, and one count each of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, importuning, and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.
