Vall Iliev, 69, of Stow, Ohio, has been charged in a three-count information with smuggling foreign-made body armor and then selling it to law enforcement agencies and others, as legitimate, domestically-made certified products.
Six people were indicted for passing phony money in four Ohio counties, including Auglaize and Defiance. Attorney General David Yost announced their indictment by a Williams County grand jury this week. The six people are accused of making purchases with fake 20-dollar bills. Five of the six suspects are from Williams County; the sixth is from Toledo. Their ages range between 20 and 23 years old. They are facing multiple counts each for the offenses that happened between June 2022 and January 2023. The Wapakoneta Police Department, Auglaize County prosecutors, and the Grand Lake Task Force aided in the investigation.

The Allen County Sheriff's Office is looking into some counterfeit bills being passed in the village of Elida. The Detectives Bureau is investigating a report of counterfeit bills being used at the Dollar General store in Elida. No one has been charged as of yet, and because the investigation is ongoing, no details about the investigation can be released. The sheriff's office says they will release more information if charges are filed.
Counterfeit currency seems to be going around lately in Findlay. The Findlay Police Department says they've received an increase in reports involving fake bills over the last two weeks. The denominations have been 10 and 20 dollar bills.
The Minster Police Department has found out who was passing counterfeit money at businesses around Minster, New Bremen, and Fort Loramie.
