The Cridersville Police Department is getting to know some of their residents who may not get out and about as much as they used to. Police Chief Nathan Fried spoke to a small group of Otterbein, Cridersville residents Tuesday afternoon. The chief was invited to join them for a morning cup of joe and a donut last fall, and it flourished into "Coffee with the Chief." It's a chance to build a bond between the department and the senior life facility.

Some members of the Village of Cridersville are hoping to get the word out on an upcoming levy in the May 4th ballot. Cridersville Village Council is proposing a half percent increase in the local income tax to fund the Cridersville Police Department. This would collect approximately an additional $180,000 a year towards the Village General Fund. It would be used only for the police department.
What began as a call to report reckless driving north of Lima soon turned into a fiery car crash in Cridersville Tuesday evening, sending two to the hospital.
