CRIDERSVILLE, OH (WLIO) - The Cridersville Police Department is getting to know some of their residents who may not get out and about as much as they used to.

Police Chief Nathan Fried spoke to a small group of Otterbein Cridersville residents Tuesday afternoon.
Police Chief Nathan Fried spoke to a small group of Otterbein Cridersville residents Tuesday afternoon. The chief was invited to join them for a morning cup of joe and a donut last fall, and it flourished into "Coffee with the Chief." It's a chance to build a bond between the department and the senior life facility.
"They really appreciate the patrol we do in their own facility and area. We'll usually take a walk down the hallways or just roll around the parking lot. We respond out here for medical emergencies once in a while, so they like seeing the face; they like getting to know the officers that are patrolling their streets," stated Chief Nathan Fried, Village of Cridersville Police Department.

The goal is to hold "Coffee with the Chief" quarterly at Otterbein Cridersville.
