Last Monday, the Ohio Department of Education sent a letter to the board informing them that they have been released from fiscal caution. The decision came based on an improved May 2021 five-year forecast, the board has made decisions like joining Vantage Career Center to reduce costs, the passage of the March 2020 .5% levy, as well as having no buildings appearing on the EdChoice Designated List.
Tuesday was the first day of hybrid learning at Delphos Jefferson High School after students tested positive for COVID-19 last week. Delphos Jefferson principal Chad Brinkman announced on the school's Facebook page that three students tested positive and around 43 students were placed in quarantine through contact tracing.
With the Landeck Elementary School shutting its doors at the end of this school year, students from the building participated in an on-site visit to their future school Tuesday morning. Landeck Elementary students from 1st through 4th grade will attend Franklin Elementary and the 5th grade students will go to Jefferson Middle School next year.
An ordinance to create a countywide building department was turned down Monday night by Delphos City Council, as some members were unsure of how it would turn out. Three Delphos City Council members voted down the Resolution R2019 - 3, a proposal made by Allen County Commissioners to receive support of a countywide building department.
