St John the Baptist Catholic Church finds a unique way to honor one special person. Sunday morning, the members took time to bless the baseball diamond behind the school which was refurbished by volunteers for the kids to use.  But with the makeover, they also decided to give it a new name and they knew exactly who it should be named after, Sister Immacolata.  She has been with the parish for six years and during that time she has made impact on them and the Landeck community.

The Van Wert Police Department says Karl Kahler Jr. was arrested after a nearly $9,000 diamond went missing at Laudick's Jewelry on Shannon Street. Police say they spotted Kahler's dark blue minivan while driving on Shannon Street and tried to pull him over but he kept going and exited on to U.S. 30. Eventually, state troopers got involved to help get the vehicle stopped. They found the diamond inside the van. Kahler was charged with felony three robbery and faces more charges. A semi-truck was on Interstate 75 when another passing trucker let the driver know his axle was on fire. He left the interstate and looked for a place to pull off and check his rig. He pulled into Diamond Manufacturing where a fire in the trailer caused a tire to blow up, resulting in what many thought was an explosion. The truck driver was able to pull his cab away from the trailer while a quick response from Bluffton firefighters put out the flames in the trailer loaded with pallets. The truck trailer suffered serious damage. No one is believed to have been injured.
