Tarockis Greer is facing charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and two counts of felonious assault. This case all began back in July of 2021 where Lima Police say that they were called to the 1600 block of west Wayne street for a possible shooting. There they found three victims inside the home that had been pistol-whipped during an apparent robbery. Two shots were fired in the incident. Greer as well as his co-defendant, Durand Tyson, were both indicted for the incident later that year.
During the opening statements in the trial for 31-year-old Tarockis Greer, lawyers laid out their case to the jury. Prosecutors say that on July 12th, Greer and Durant Tyson went to the home, where three people were recovering from a party the night before. At one point that morning, they say Greer allegedly went upstairs to a bedroom where one of the victims was sleeping and pointed a gun at him.
Durant Tyson was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and two counts of felonious assault. The charges stem from a home invasion back in July of this year in the 1600 block of West Wayne Street. Tyson appeared for a pre-trial where he signed a speedy trial waiver. The waiver will now allow his attorney, Jerry Pitts, time to prepare for his case. The defense also requested lowering Tyson's bond, but the request was denied by the judge.
