September 10, 2024, Press Release from the Elida Local School District: The Elida High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) students are sponsoring a Blood Donor Day with Solvita on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 9:00am until 2:00pm in the Elida High School Auxiliary Gym, 401 East North Street in Elida. Not only will your donation be helping the current blood shortage, but an added incentive to possibly win tickets to the OSU/Michigan Game on Nov. 30.
The blood drive welcomed walk-ins and appointments. Students along with the public were invited. The Elida FFA says sparking leadership and making a positive difference in students is just part of their mission and hopes this leads others to become regular donors. The students we spoke to say the process is easy and it feels good to give something that could give someone another holiday season with their family.
Blood Donor Day was held at the Elida High School Main Gym. Those who donated blood received a ticket to a Cedar Fair theme park of their choice, while supplies lasted.
