Elida High School students helped address the critical need for blood in the area.
The Elida Future Farmers of America held the blood drive with help from the American Red Cross in Elida High School's auxiliary gymnasium. Organizers state that they wanted to organize the blood donor day to help those who desperately need blood during uncertain times.
"There is an extreme shortage and everyone is probably knows at least one person who has needed a blood transfusion in their life," said Caurina Janev, Vice President of the Elida FFA. "It's really important to give blood if you can in order to help save lives."
Many residents stopped by the high school to give blood, with the Elida FFA stating that only three spots were left open after the final sign up period.Â
