LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Bowlers came out Saturday to raise money for the Children's Developmental Center of Lima.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Cenovus Lima Refinery continued a decades-long tradition of hosting a Christmas party for kids with developmental disabilities.
The Lima Memorial Auxiliary donated to the center through the annual supply drive. The Children’s Developmental Center is located inside the health system and is for kids 18 months to before they can go to kindergarten who have areas of developmental concerns. The annual supply drive is a way that the Lima Memorial associates can help out the program by providing snacks, activities, and paper products.
Teen volunteers from local high schools presented boxes full of school supplies for the Childrens Developmental Center at Lima Memorial Hospital. This year's theme was all about the ocean. The boxes were filled with essential school supplies, which include arts and craft materials, and snack items. Volunteers collected donations over a three week period, gathering 200 or more supplies. Nicholas Chambers, a student from Lima Central Catholic spoke about the importance of volunteering for your community.
People were on a roll Saturday afternoon as they helped raised money for the Children's Developmental Center.
Close to 200 people participated in the organizations bowl-a-thon at 20th Century Lanes. Friends and families not only bowled several rounds, but they also participated in dozens of different raffles.
