July 22, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission: BEREA, Ohio (July 22, 2024) – The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission is reminding toll customers everywhere to be aware of a resurgence in fraudulent texts from scammers requesting payment for unpaid tolls through fraudulent websites. The Ohio Turnpike does NOT request its E-ZPass customers to make payments by text. Collections of unpaid tolls and/or toll violations do NOT occur by text either.

The Better Business Bureau is warning of a scam targeting business owners. Per corporate transparency, owners of both active and inactive private businesses are required to fill out a form identifying themselves as the owner by January 2025. Scammers are using emails that closely resemble government agencies, asking people to fill out the form and charging a fee. There is no fee to submit the actual form, and once scammers have your credit card information, they may continue taking money.

In a recent phishing scam, cybercriminals are using real Facebook pages to impersonate Facebook itself. It starts with a fake email stating your account will be deactivated unless you click a link. That leads to a spoofed website that looks like a real Facebook login, which allows scammers to take hold of your account. Whether it be a comment, message, or e-mail, scams often come with urgent headlines designed to grab your attention, and the better business bureau warns any link can be suspicious.

This past spring, the city administration held Community Engagement Meetings, conducted online surveys and took email recommendations from citizens and business leaders about where they would like to see that money go. Some of the areas in the proposal include $1.5 million for the demolition of blighted homes, over $3 million to improve housing, $6 million for job creation and economic development, and $7 million to help with revenue recovery for Lima's operation budget.

She was last seen wearing a gray sweat shirt, jeans, and gray Adidas Yeezy tennis shoes.  She maybe in the company of a male, juvenile acquaintance. Aniyah has been diagnosed with advanced stages of a critical illness, at this point it has been approximately 24 hours since she last seen or received her medications. Detectives have been in contact with Aniyah’s doctor who stated she has anywhere from 24 to 90 hours before she begins experiencing severe side effects from not receiving her medications.
