Phishing scams are everywhere, and people need to be alert to avoid being compromised, the difference between a legitimate email address or link and a fake one can be as minor as a misplaced letter.

“So, you can hover over a link normally and see where it is taking you. And just really read that link closely,” says Amy Spriggs, Marketing Director for Tomorrow’s Technology Today. “So, a lot of times they might just change the information by one letter, or the word is slightly misspelled or there might be a period or dot in a place where it maybe doesn't belong. So just verifying does this match the authenticity I should be looking for.”

Spriggs says you should have a plan in place before anything happens and keep it updated as the world of the dark web changes daily. October is Cyber Security Awareness Month.
