The grant is open to any 501(c)(3) organization located in Allen County or one of its adjacent counties. To qualify, the proposed project must be completed within 12 months of receiving the funds. Applications will be accepted through June 30.

The City of Lima is looking for a new department head and a few other positions in its workforce. The position of the city's public works director is open as former director Kirk Niemeyer has taken a position in the private sector. The public works department addresses the physical needs of the city and is comprised of four divisions: engineering, buildings, streets, and parks, recreation, and forestry. The city is also looking to fill the deputy director of housing and neighborhoods along with a new park ranger. The city's human resources department says the city is a good place to work and offers a great pay package with benefits.
"We talked about benefit packages and compensations packages for employees. Now is the time that we are going to retain employees and gain employees that we need to operate the jail and keep the county safe and keep the inmates secure," said Treglia. "Talking with the commissioners about those things is very important to me and that we write a whole package for employees at the sheriff's office."
Despite the closing of the Allen County probate and juvenile courts Wednesday, employees were still hard at work developing their leadership, communication, and relationships skills.
