Students from grades 6 through 12 spent the last few hours of the school day learning about the history and meaning of Earth Day. The idea behind the afternoon is to teach students why the Earth needs to be taken care of for future generations and how they can contribute. There were plenty of eco-friendly hands-on activities and crafts, and several classes got to work outside and enjoy the weather.
