The Ottawa River Coalition held a fish fry that will help with their future education efforts in the area. The 20th Annual Fish Fry Fundraiser was held in the Allen County Fairgrounds on Friday, with all proceeds going towards watershed education efforts.
The Good Friday Fry will be happening on April 2nd hosted by the Ottawa River Coalition. This year will be a drive-thru only event. It will be featuring Alaskan Pollock from Lock 16 and all the sides. Organizers hope that it will be as successful as in years past because it is a major source of funding for educational river programs for local students.
Harrod residents were able to view completed renovations at the Harrod Event Center during an open house event. The Harrod Event Center has seen some extensive renovations, replacing flooring and more in order to give the venue a new look.
Lent has begun in the Catholic Church and with it, hundreds of fish dinners served in our area every Friday. The Van Wert Knights of Columbus had its first fish fry of the Lenten season Friday evening. Each week, one dollar from every meal will be donated to a selected organization. This Friday is dedicated to Crisis Care. One volunteer says while customers can't sit in and eat their meals, carryout is the next best thing this year.
The Ottawa River Coalition held their 18th annual Good Friday Fish Fry Fundraiser at the Allen County Fairgrounds. It is the one and only time of the year the organization asks the community to donate to their cause, and they see plenty of repeat customers showing their support.
