He was one of the biggest and often behind-the-scenes supporters of Lima-Allen County and the region. Kewpee Hamburgers owner and president, Harry Shutt, has died. Shutt began working at Kewpee in 1957 and purchased it from the 'Stub' Wilson estate in 1980, which included the downtown Lima location and Allentown Road, with the eastside location opening in 1981. 

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - After four years of planning and work, the Lima community got to see the finished product of Spring and Main. 

As the saying goes, give a man a fish and he can eat for a day, but teach a man to fish and he can eat for a lifetime. Apollo Career Center culinary students are teaching members of the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities Friends, Allies, and Neighbors, or the "FANS" program, how to make chicken pot pies. Many of them live alone and eat frozen dinners, and this class gives them the knowledge to measure, stir, and bake a delicious meal by hand. The students are proud to help them learn a new skill.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima chapter of Altrusa International brought people together for Derby Day on Saturday. 

Thanks to the U.S. Army, Apollo Career Center's culinary students were given two meals ready to eat, or MREs, and were told to re-use the ingredients and create appetizers, a main course, and a dessert for two people. They had six different MREs to choose from, like Italian sausage with peppers and onions and southwest-style beef, and then they put their skills to the test.

On May 18th, the Lima Area Habitat for Humanity will be holding a coffee and dessert tasting at the City Club. The Meeting Place on Market, Vibe Coffeehouse, and Sara's Sweets will be combining different coffee roasts and brewing techniques to pair with something sweet. Habitat for Humanity will also be sharing its vision for the upcoming year and talking about its program, "Shingles of Hope."

 Throughout the evening guests mingle with the family members who are all suspects in Vinnie's death. The play takes place throughout the building and guests are encouraged to eavesdrop on secret conversations, interrogate suspects and figure out the mystery! (The audience decides who the murderer is!) Feel free to come dressed in your best black mourning clothes... or not.
