Two agencies focused on nature are joining forces to get girls outside and breathing some fresh air. The Girl Scouts of Western Ohio and Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District are hosting a hike through the woods on August 13, 2024. It's scouting at its best as you venture out into nature to see and experience new things. Organizers say they find it amazing how many kids don't get outside, haven't been in the woods, or have even taken a hike along a trail. They hope this event will get girls out and interested in scouting.

It was their annual Recruitment Day Camp to introduce girl scouting to these possible future scouts. Several agencies came in to provide educational projects, and basic scouting tasks like fire building were also covered.

It will run Tuesday, June 4th, through Thursday, June 6th. This year's theme is "The Sky is the Limit," and they will be learning about space, the sky, and how it all relates to Planet Earth.
