Local Girl Scouts are getting ready for another season of cookie sales, that not only funds their troop, but also teaches them valuable life skills.

It is a tradition that has been going on for over 100 years and teaches young women some very important skills. Of course, we are talking about girl scout cookies.  Sales have already started and will continue until the beginning of March.  The sale of the cookies helps troops pay for activities.  A box of cookies is 6 dollars, but there are a few new flavors that you may want to try.

From now until March 14th, residents can order their favorite girl scout cookies in the local area, as well as through an online platform called "Digital Cookie". Girl Scouts will be utilizing different methods this year to meet the demand for cookies. Girl Scouts may choose to go door-to-door and use contact-free approaches like door hanger order forms and porch drop-offs.

Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs - everybody has their favorite from the familiar varieties of Girl Scout cookies. But this year, there's a new cookie that is joining the ranks. They're called Lemon-Ups, and as the name suggests, it's a lemon cookie with a glazed bottom. Baked into the top of the cookie are different inspirational messages to encourage girls as they sell their cookies and in a way, reflects what the cookie program is all about.
