Celina Moose Lodge recently donated $10,000 to be used for the construction of a new shelter house adjacent to the ADA fishing dock and a new playground on the west bank of Grand Lake – which the Moose previously donated $5,000 toward.

Several area community members are getting ready for an original play written by a local resident! Inside the St. Marys Grand Opera House, cast members were quickly changing costumes, running their lines, and going through the motions for the upcoming play "The Ditchmen: The Play, The Sequel." This play follows the fictional bigfoot-like creature from the original play performed in the St. Marys bicentennial celebration and introduces three new fictional creatures including the legendary Hoedag of Grand Lake. This play is based off the four books written by local author and former teacher, Joe Ginter, and on Tuesday evening, we talked with him about what inspired him to do this.

July 2, 2024, Press Release from the Lake Improvement Association: (GRAND LAKE ST. MARYS) - The Indian Lake region suffered significant tornado damage this spring. As a gesture of goodwill to our lake neighbors, Lake Improvement Association past president Keith Westrick reached out to see if there was anything the Grand Lake LIA could do to help, and they indicated they needed help replacing trees that were destroyed at Moundwood and Fox Island.

A new tradition began today at Grand Lake in Celina! Today and tomorrow (May 18th), the Boardwalk Village is hosting their first annual Boardwalk Boat & Bike Show. Local dealers will be at the event, displaying and selling boats, motorcycles, ATVs, golf carts, and more. There will also be food trucks, live music, and a cornhole tournament at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The show is the first to be held at Grand Lake in several years. Boardwalk Village hopes to draw out-of-town visitors to come see what both their resort and the rest of Celina have to offer.

St. Marys Tailgate for Cancer recently donated $12,000 to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. This donation will help support the purchase of Stereotactic Breast Biopsy equipment that will be added on to our 3D Mammography equipment. A Stereotactic Breast Biopsy is used when breast abnormalities need to be biopsied but cannot be seen under ultrasound imaging.

Some of you may have losing weight or eating healthier on your New Years Resolution List, and the Grand Lake Health System kicked off an annual event to help the community out. Tonight was the kickoff night for the 17th annual Grand Health Challenge at the St. Marys Theater. Participants arrived around 6:30 PM Tuesday Evening to start their journey to good health by weighing in for their starting points and then were instructed the rules of the challenge inside the theater.
