May 2, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio Water Development Authority: The Ohio Water Development Authority (OWDA) awarded $29 million through low interest loans to Ohio communities to improve wastewater and drinking water infrastructure and make water quality improvements for Ohioans. For the month of April, the Authority funded 8 projects that will provide improvements and replace aging infrastructure. The 8 awarded projects received an interest rate ranging from 1.53% to 3.26%.

Heavy rain over the past few days have resulted in flooding along area rivers and creeks. On Tuesday afternoon just northwest of Arlington, the Eagle Creek at County Road 24 in Hancock County was running quite high and spilling out of its banks. Water from the creek spilled into nearby fields resulting in at least several inches of water. The fast moving water nearly touched the bottom of the bridge. At this particular location, the roadway was not covered in water.

March 28, 2024 Press Release from the Office of Governor Mike DeWine: (COLUMBUS, Ohio)— Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) announced today more than 1.8 million acres are now enrolled into H2Ohio, a comprehensive water quality plan designed to address complex issues affecting Lake Erie. The results of the most recent signup period show a 32 percent increase in enrolled acres when compared to previous sign ups.

Ohioans can support the beauty of the state’s natural world by simply checking a box on their tax return. Donations to Ohio’s Wildlife Diversity or State Nature Preserves funds are administered by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The Buckeye State is home to an amazing collection of high-quality forest, prairie, wetland, and streamside habitats which support thousands of native plant and wildlife species. Donations from this program protect those areas, allowing plants and wildlife to thrive.

Arts Place has announced that the St. Marys location will be closing down on January 15th. Arts Place took over the gallery nearly 20 years ago and has been at its current location since 2016. While the physical branch will no longer be open, Arts Place will continue working with local organizations...

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced the expansion of H2Ohio, the state's comprehensive, data-driven strategy to improve water quality throughout Ohio. Since launching in 2019, H2Ohio has primarily focused on water infrastructure replacement in low-income areas, statewide wetland creation, and the reduction of algal-bloom-causing agricultural runoff into Lake Erie. The new H2Ohio Rivers program will expand the initiative's overall goals to also focus on improving and maintaining the health of Ohio's large rivers.
