WEST-CENTRAL OHIO (WLIO) - Heavy rain over the past few days have resulted in flooding along area rivers and creeks.

On Tuesday afternoon just northwest of Arlington, the Eagle Creek at County Road 24 in Hancock County was running quite high and spilling out of its banks. Water from the creek spilled into nearby fields resulting in at least several inches of water. The fast moving water nearly touched the bottom of the bridge. At this particular location, the roadway was not covered in water.

However, further north in Findlay, the Eagle Creek did flood area roadways. A road closed sign was posted at the Edgar Avenue and Bank Street intersection at the southern entrance of Emory Adams Park. The road leading into the park as well as the southern parking lot were completely flooded as the Eagle Creek is in moderate flood stage at a little over 10.5 feet. Several other Findlay roadways remained closed as well. The Blanchard River is also running high and is forecast to crest in minor flood stage at 12 point 6 feet Wednesday morning.

Finally, we ventured over into Putnam County where the Ottawa River in Kalida is quite swollen. Here, the water spilled quite a bit into neighboring fields resulting in widespread flooding and even creeped into the outer edges of some residence's backyards. The Ottawa River is expected to crest Wednesday morning at 17.4 feet.
