The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board recently received "One Ohio" funds to support two programs designed to assist individuals struggling with opioid addiction. Commissioners have allocated just over $50,000 to the Allen-Auglaize County Peer Center, operated by Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions, and to a dedicated intervention specialist for the juvenile court system.

Many families with kids aged 0 to 5 attended a community developmental screening Tuesday evening. The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities hosted the free and public screening at Marimor School to help provide parents an assessment on their child's gross and fine motor skills, hearing, vision, speech as well as regular growth, dental, behavioral needs, and possible autism indicators.

 Juvenile and Probate Court Administrator Berlin Carrol says, “Where families will be able to walk in and meet with an intervention specialist or a behavioral navigator. In the hopes they get linked or referred to the appropriate community-based service to help them avoid having ay additional problems or coming into formal contact with the juvenile court.”
