Van Wert, OH (WLIO) - Two people are now in custody after counterfeit money was circulating in Van Wert County.

The book sale is a long running tradition for the organization and helps fund the scholarships they give out.  Members have been collecting books and other items, like puzzles and music, all summer to get ready for this weeklong sale.    The AAUW only excepts cash and checks only.

Items exempt from sales tax including clothing items that are marked $75 or less, school supplies priced at $20 or less, and instructional school material priced $20 or under. More details on included items can be found here. The tax holiday includes online purchases on qualifying items. Retailer coupons also apply which can boost even more savings.

This includes an item of clothing priced at seventy-five dollars or less, an item of school supplies priced at twenty dollars or less, and an item of school instructional material priced at twenty dollars or less. Items that are used in a trade or business are not exempt under the sales tax holiday. After working for kids at Allen County Children Services Board and then senior citizens at Mennonite Home Communities in Bluffton for 37 years, Laura Voth decided she need to find another purpose in life and in her small way try and make the world a better place.

The community helps out a man battling cancer. Food and holiday items were collected by three area groups to support Emmanuel Flowers.
