Jacob Striff, 24, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for the shooting death of Jeffrey Paxton, 41, in September of 2024. As part of a plea agreement, the murder charge and other related charges were dropped.
A man facing murder charges is set to return to an Allen County Common Pleas courtroom.
The Allen County Sheriff's Office has released more information about the fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday in Perry Township. 23-year-old Jacob Striff has been charged with murder and is currently in the Allen County Jail awaiting arraignment. Deputies say they were called to 1820 Charledon Avenue Tuesday afternoon and found 41-year-old Jeffery Paxton Jr. with gunshot wounds.
