The VFW Post 9142 was making stops at different nursing homes to drop off presents, one of the stops being the Meadows of Ottawa Senior Living Center. Each veteran received a hat and a lap blanket to use. The veterans appreciated that the VFW stopped by to honor their service and think about them around the holidays.

Lima’s Relay for Life is this week at Spartan Stadium and the public is invited to attend. Even if you haven’t signed up to be on a team there is plenty of ways you can participate with a silent auction and raffles. The survivors' lap will lead the relay and a luminary service will be at dusk. Just come out and support the effort for a cure.

The school held their annual mini relay for life. Besides walking laps to raise money, the students in all of the school buildings participated in a variety of activities leading up to today, including caps for a cure, where they pay money to wear a hat at school and making cards for cancer patients at children's hospitals. Organizer, cancer survivor, and bath senior Lauren Cunningham says the support that she got from Bath, just shows how caring their community is.

After taking some time off for the pandemic, the students brought back the Laps for Life fundraiser. The money they raise Saturday goes to the American Cancer Society for cancer research. Besides walking laps, the student classes and organizations put up booths to sell food or hosted activities like cornhole and a dunking booth to help raise money for the cause.

Santa was gathering a few more Christmas present suggestions at the University of Findlay Sunday afternoon.  The university held their second annual Letters to Santa Drive-Thru event.  Kids got to hand deliver their letters to the man himself and Santa maybe will even write them a letter back.  The drive thru event was started in 2020 because of the pandemic, and the kids and the staff have really enjoyed what it has turned into.
