Lima City Council held their third and final reading on an ordinance regarding the Cable Road project.
High school principal Chad Brinkman and staff members Maureen Rentz and Karissa Hoersten were arraigned on the child endangering charges. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on May 4th, 2021, when an alleged incident of neglect of a student took place. The charges were filed this year and come from the Van Wert City Law Director's Office.
A Lima City Councilman is pushing for the city to close down a bar that has been the focus of two shooting investigations. The first shooting case took place on March 25th, where Lima Police states that in the early morning hours they were called to Marko's for a report of a fight.
Owners of 904 S. Main St., the site of a murder in December, have nearly reached an agreement with the City of Lima.
Owners of the building at 900-908 S. Main St., Victor Quintero and Gilbert Salaz, seemed to agree to a permanent injunction with the city, in court this morning.
The City of Lima filed another nuisance action on a downtown bar on Wednesday.
Law Director Tony Geiger said the action was taken on "Levels" bar at 122 E. North St. for much the same reasons of 904 S. Main St. Geiger said the business, formerly known as "Beantown Saloon," has had many criminal disturbances and excessive police calls.
